Most people think that hydroponic is complex and require expensive equipment. this is true for large scale implementations and for large plants but if you would like to grow lettuce, herbs and any other leafy greens that have fast growing rate it’s actually easy and cheap.
It’s call the Kratky method and it’s the easiest hydroponic method. below you can see how to build simple Kratky system that is great for growing leafy greens. The Kratky method is the best hydroponic system to start with as a beginner.
The items you will need for building simple Kratky system:
- Container
- Drilling machine
- Carbon Hole Saw
- Planting cups
- Hydroton / rockwoll
- General Hydroponic fertilizer
- pH Meter
- pH control kit
- Seedlings

The container size = 26x35x15
In such container I’m planting 5 seedlings
Preparing the container
Drill on the container lid. The hole diameter should match the planting cup diameter.
